  • Driving Creek Railway - Coromandel
  • Hauraki Rail Trail - Waikino track
  • Karangahake Gorge - walking and trout fishing. For more info click here.
  • Goldfields historic railway- runs from Waihi to Waikino
  • Martha Mine- Waihi. Visit the Waihi Arts Centre and Museum to see the history of the mine
  • Cathedral Cove walk - head to Hahei turnoff between Tairua and Whitianga
  • Waihi Beach and Bowentown. Both surfing and calm water swimming
  • Te Aroha Domain and Hot Springs
  • Bullswool Farm Park - Get up close to rare breed farm animals. 10:00 am-4:00pm daily
  • Hot Water Beach - Dig a hole and get warm!
  • The Lost Spring - Thermal pools and Spa in the middle of Whitianga
  • Maratoto Valley - two swimming holes within easy reach of Paeroa- see the office for details on how to get there. (Also a very pleasant detour for cyclists off the Rail Trail)
  • Ngatea Water Gardens. Check them out on the way home to Auckland
  • Owharoa Falls - near Waikino just off the main Road
  • Paeroa Golf Course - a little gem off the beaten track. Check at the office regarding green fees and cart bookings
  • The Lakes Resort Golf Course - a little more upmarket than your normal country course
  • Whangamata Surf Beach - famed for its break at the bar
  • The Waterworks at Coromandel Town
  • Thames Museum and School of Mines Museum
